The 2012 saw the 61st edition of the International Festival of Music and Dance of Granada which coincided with the 150th anniversary of the birth of Debussy, to whose memory a large part of the programme was devoted.
This already traditional Festival publication includes a truly beautiful presentation of the performances and activities which have been programmed for 2012. It is also available on our website and as a free application at the Apple App Store.
This annual report is an attempt to reflect sounds in images and to show each concert, the musicians, dancers and artists who performed for us last year, and to display the amazing settings of the Granada Festival and its people. It is therefore a souvenir of events surrounding yet another happy year of the Granada Festival.
In this Memory Book due credit must be given to the role played by the Administrations which make up the Festival’s Board of Governors, without whose participation it would be difficult for us to present this great cultural project each year and also to our sponsors who are the financial pillars of this institution.
This has also been a year of change in the leadership of the Festival, now under new management. This book is also an acknowledgement to Enrique Gámez who spent ten fruitful years at the head of this institution.
Finally, we wish to express our sincere gratitude for their essential support to the governing institutions, the Patrons’ Circle, the Advisory Council, the Festival ‘s organisation team as well as to all those who take part and who enjoy the Festival activities each year. We keep on making a Festival.
